Saint Cecilia is the patron saint of musicians and is often depicted in pictures playing the violin. The legend around her death states that after being struck three times on the neck with a sword, she lived for three days, even asking the pope to convert her home into a church. In 1599 Cecilia's body was discovered incorruptible and is known to be the first saint to be incorrupt. Her feast day is November 22.
