Saint Rita of Cascia was a wife, mother, widow and an Italian Augustinian nun. Beatified in 1626, Rita was not canonized until 1900. She has acquired the reputation, together with St. Jude, as a saint of impossible cases. She is also the patron saint for mothers, difficult marriages, abused wives, heartbroken women, and parenthood. She even is the unofficial patron saint of baseball! She is often depicted holding roses or with roses nearby. Saint Rita of Cascia is also incorrupt.
